Michael Sulis

Director

Michael grew up in the Chicago area and has earned BSAS and MArch degrees in architecture.

He was thrilled to have an opportunity to move to Oregon in 2000, where he increasingly became fascinated with nature across the Pacific Northwest. He’s an amateur photographer interested in invertebrates and can often be found carrying camera gear into the backcountry on backpacking trips, photographing beetles and other insects. In 2023 he backpacked the Washington State section of the PCT.

Michael works in technology, developing software solutions for rural electric cooperatives in the region. He began volunteering with Cascade Forest Conservancy in 2015 and finds that through volunteering he learns about different aspects of the complexity of the region which fosters an even deeper connection to the forests of the Cascades.
