Shiloh Halsey

Shiloh has worked with the Cascade Forest Conservancy since 2011 leading conservation and restoration projects in southern Washington. Shiloh received his Master’s in Geography from Portland State University with a focus on habitat mapping and landscape ecology. During this time, he was a member of the Dynamic Ecosystems and Landscapes Lab in the Environmental Science Department and was part of the research team investigating future forest cover patterns and potential fire severity in the Wenatchee and Deschutes National Forests. His 2015 paper in Landscape Ecology, titled Modeling Predator Habitat to Enhance Reintroduction Planning, explored new variations in habitat mapping and outlined fisher reintroduction potential in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. In 2017, he published the Climate Resilience Guidebook: A Conservation Plan for the Southern Washington Cascades, which outlines strategies for building resilience for species and habitats in the region. At CFC, Shiloh runs the programmatic work of the organization, overseeing a variety of new and long-running conservation and restoration projects in the region.
